Part of getting ready for Garda should be some bragging out new top speeds reached. So, where’s all the speed records? Please give us some new top speeds… Rohan, Si, Sam? Or has everybody optimised at early foiling?
I found some nice info about sailing the Italian lakes from our Musto Skiff friends.
Scott wrote a nice preview. Who’s doing the poll?
Now the UK mothies have added their preview too (added 31-05).
Check out some photos of Torbole on Flickr.
My tip for the worlds will be Sven Kloppenburg. Not for winning, but he will be back in the top 10. He’s got a new Prowler this year, and he knows what to do with it. Give ‘em Hell Sven!
Personally I’ll look forward to the drive up to Garda, drinking lots of cappucino’s in the morning, following the racing, meeting the moth crowd, taking some video, and then…take ownership of my new boat! Then some days of training at Garda, and driving the boat back quick to Lemmer, Holland for more training. Hopefully I can get to grips with the new boat quick, to get some more Dutch people Mothing…
In the meantime I had to do some Laser sailing. I had some strange thoughts when I took that mast (lantern pole) out of the shed (why am I doing this? How can this be so heavy? Is the mast filled with cement?) but it actually was great fun with some 20 knots of wind. And a good fitness test at that. I even capsized twice. [big grin]
Oh, by the way, I’m not sponsored, not by SmartRigging, Garmin, or Fastacraft, so all I’m writing is because I like stuff. I might add a disclosure thing later.
